Deep Dive:The Brainspotting Intensive

Move Beyond the Limits of Weekly Therapy

Do you feel like 50-minute sessions barely scratch the surface? Traditional therapy can feel like opening a book, reading one chapter, and being forced to close it just as things get interesting.

The Deep Dive is an 8-hour Brainspotting intensive designed for those ready to bypass the “small talk” and get straight to the root. By condensing months of processing into two focused days, we create the neurological space needed for profound shifts, lasting relief, and true healing.

How the Deep Dive Works

We utilize Brainspotting, a powerful, brain-based therapy that identifies, processes, and releases neurophysiological sources of emotional and physical pain. In an intensive format, your brain stays in the “processing zone,” allowing for deeper breakthroughs than weekly sessions typically permit.

  • The Format: Two consecutive days of focused work (4 hours per day).
  • The Follow-Up: A 60-minute integration session scheduled 1–2 weeks later to anchor your progress and navigate your “new normal.”
  • The Setting: Our professional, calming space at 615 E 82nd Avenue, Suite 103, Anchorage, AK.

Investment & Insurance

At Common Thread Counseling, we believe deep healing should be accessible.

  • Insurance-Friendly: We bill your insurance for these sessions.
  • Your Cost: You are only responsible for your applicable copays, coinsurance, or deductibles as determined by your specific plan.

Is This Right For You?

Whether you are a new client or already working with us, we begin with a preliminary session to ensure this intensive aligns with your goals:

  • New Clients: An in-person clinical interview.
  • Current Clients: A brief Exploration Session (available via Telehealth).

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a "Deep Dive" Brainspotting Intensive?

The Deep Dive is an accelerated therapeutic format that condenses months of traditional weekly therapy into two consecutive days. By dedicating eight hours to focused processing, we allow your nervous system to stay in a “deep processing” state, which often leads to more rapid breakthroughs than a standard 50-minute session.

The intensive consists of eight total hours of therapy:

  • Day 1: 4 hours of focused Brainspotting.
  • Day 2: 4 hours of focused Brainspotting.
  • Integration: One 60-minute follow-up session scheduled 1–2 weeks later to help you process the shifts and anchor your progress.

es. Intensives are an excellent “boost” to ongoing therapy. If you are an existing client at Common Thread Counseling, we will start with a brief Exploration Session (available via Telehealth) to ensure the timing is right for your goals. If you see a therapist elsewhere, we can coordinate with them to ensure the intensive supports your current work.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, much of this time is spent in deep, internal processing. We use specific eye positions (Brainspots) to access the subcortical parts of the brain where trauma and emotional stress are held. There will be natural breaks for rest and hydration to ensure you don’t feel overwhelmed.

Yes, we aim to make this accessible by billing your insurance directly for the sessions. You are only responsible for the costs associated with your specific plan, such as copays, coinsurance, or deductibles.

All intensives are held at our Anchorage office:

615 E 82nd Avenue, Suite 103, Anchorage, AK 99518.

Before booking, we require a preliminary clinical interview (for new clients) or an exploration session (for current clients). This ensures that an intensive format is clinically appropriate for your current needs and that you have the necessary support for the integration period following the Deep Dive.
