I, Hannah Andrews, am a therapist with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and nine years of experience supporting teens and adults through trauma,
emotional challenges, and major life transitions. My work is rooted in a deep passion for creating spaces where people feel safe enough to explore, heal, and grow.
Before joining Common Thread Counseling, I spent nearly a decade as a Mental Health Therapist at the Providence Adolescent Residential Treatment Program. In this role, I provided long-term therapeutic care for adolescent girls with complex psychiatric needs. I facilitated individual, family, and group therapy; supported a therapeutic milieu; and collaborated closely with a multidisciplinary team to help clients and their families navigate meaningful change.
I specialize in trauma-related disorders, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and grief. I am trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness Based Strategies, Motivational Interviewing, Relational Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am particularly passionate about trauma work and EMDR, which help clients access deeper healing through attunement, nervous system regulation, and compassionate exploration.
My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. I believe that healing happens within a safe, nonjudgmental environment and through a trusting therapeutic alliance. I work alongside clients to build insight, strengthen resilience, and develop practical coping skills that support sustainable growth. Together, we explore how past experiences shape present patterns and create space for new ways of relating to oneself and others.
What I enjoy most about being a therapist is witnessing the resilience that emerges when people feel truly supported. It is an honor to walk with clients as they discover new perspectives, deepen their self-understanding, and move toward greater wellbeing. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, paddle boarding, crafting, and spending time with my son.
